Do You Feel Your Need for the Holy Spirit?

The Spirit of God shows up in the second verse (Genesis 1:2) of the Bible creating, bringing order and life.

The Spirit of God shows up in the last 5 verses (Genesis 22:17) of the Bible inviting anyone to come and receive a free gift of eternal life.

In between the start of the world and the end of the earth, we find ourselves living and the Spirit is still at work. But many Christians do not understand their need for the Holy Spirit or his powerful role in their life. But maybe you’ve felt your need for the Holy Spirit, but you didn’t know that’s what it was…

Have you ever felt distant from God? Sensed that your prayers weren’t heard? Doubted God’s love for you?

Have you struggled to love other Christians? Been hurt by the church and overcome by bitterness? Felt alone even though you were physically in a church building?

Have you found yourself in the unenviable position of being more influenced by your non-Christian friends than they are by you? Do you find yourself in compromising situations because you are not an influencer, you are influenced?

The Holy Spirit gives you the power to experience intimacy with God, community within the church, and influence with those who don’t know God. So much of our lives revolves around loving God, loving Christians, and reaching the world, but without the Holy Spirit we are powerless and lifeless. The Spirit is the personal presence of God. Maybe a question to ask yourself to align with this reality is this:

Am I paying attention to what God in me wants for me?
