You can live better on 90% of your income with God involved in your finances than you can on 100% of your income without God involved in your finances.
I will give 10% to God through my local church for the next 90 days. And I will watch with anticipation for God to bless me in tangible and intangible ways.
Tithing is returning 10% of your income to God through the local church. Why would God want you to tithe? Because he wants you to trust Him, and He wants to bless you for trusting Him! The Bible is overflowing with promises that if you bring God your first, your best, the full ten percent, then He will indeed bless you:
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”

+ What Exactly is a Tithe?
Tithing is giving 10% of your income to God through the local church. The word tithe means 1/10. Tithe means 10%. We give our 10% before taxes because we honor God before the government.
+ When Should I give?
Whenever you get paid. If you get paid monthly, tithe as soon as you get your paycheck monthly. If you get paid bi-weekly, then tithe bi-weekly. When you receive a bonus, tithe when you recieve it.
+ Isn't Tithing only for the Old Testament?
It's true that tithing was introduced in the Old Testament (OT) but Jesus reaffirmed that people should be tithing (Matthew 23:23). But an even bigger principle is that we have been set free from the Mosaic Law, not to do LESS than the law required, but to do radically MORE than the law requires because of Jesus. That's why we teach that tithing is the starting point of generosity for the church.
+ Is automatic giving less spiritual?
No, there is nothing inherently more spiritual about a check or cash, than a bank debit. In fact, if you value something in this world, you will got to great lengths to ensure that it happens. Automating your giving allows you to make decisions right now to honor God with your finances and to take steps to ensure that you are not robbing God whether accidentally or not.
